Shoulder Pain
The shoulder is an incredibly mobile joint, making it very susceptible to injury. Shoulder injuries can significantly impact your daily activities. Typically shoulders tend to feel tight and achy. As a person engages in repetitive activities, the strain settles in and the body compensates by creating additional strain in the upper back and neck. Eventually the joint instability leads to limited movements and they eventually find themselves taking medication to ease the pain and inflammation.
There are several common conditions related to shoulder pain, including:
- Rotator cuff injuries: These injuries are common in athletes and can be caused by repetitive overhead movements, falls, or other traumatic injuries.
- Frozen shoulder: This condition occurs when the capsule surrounding the shoulder joint thickens and tightens, causing pain and limiting range of motion.
- Shoulder impingement: This occurs when the rotator cuff muscles become compressed between the bones in the shoulder, causing pain and limiting mobility.
- Arthritis: Arthritis in the shoulder can cause pain, stiffness, and limited range of motion.
There can be many factors involved in treating shoulder pain:
- Muscular balance and coordination play an integral in supporting this shoulder. At Color Chiropractic, our treatment approach will typically include: spinal adjustments, adjustments to other joints of the body, muscle work, rehab exercises and stretches.
- Nutrition supplements, lifestyle factors and self care strategies will also be considered to prevent or minimize exacerbating the condition.
At Color Chiropractic, our doctors take a holistic approach to help you investigate the issue and figure out the best way to get you out of pain and back doing the things you love.
It’s important to note that the specific treatment approach used us will depend on the individual patient’s condition and needs. If you’re experiencing shoulder pain or discomfort, it’s a good idea to speak with a chiropractor or another healthcare professional to determine the best course of treatment for your specific needs.
